Marketing Research Associate

Job Description

Experience: 2-3 Years

Location: Remote

 

Overall:

● Conducting market and competitor research.

● Gather qualitative data about companies and industries from primary and secondary sources.

 

Specifics:

● Cold call/email/message into companies in order to obtain information about strategic goals and objectives.

● Analyze information about industries and companies and serve as a resource of information.

● Reviewing industry and competitor data to identify growth opportunities, guide marketing planning, build strong selling points, and understand targets. This includes analyzing competitor prices, sales, and method of marketing and distribution through extensive research.

● Gather qualitative and quantitative data, analyze and interpret research findings, provide actionable, strategic insights and prescriptive recommendations for programmatic and brand research in higher education

● Conduct secondary research, including finding information from industry associations, statisticians and marketing experts.

● Generate reports that analyze competition and customers.

● Identify and recruit subject matter experts in various industries.

● Excellent PC based software skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Desired skills:

● Previous sales experience

● Analytical, benchmarking, problem solving, coordination, planning, and project and vendor management skills.

● Ability (and discipline) to work well alone

● Public speaking a HUGE plus

● Strong written (typing) and communication skills

● Strong time management skills

● Ability to look beyond the surface of research data

● Self-starter and inclined towards continuous learning opportunities

● Familiarity with search engines, LinkedIn, MS Office, GSuite

● Offer insights about product potential.

● Be familiar with advanced statistical analysis and research methodologies, along with common computer programs.

● Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating findings into dynamic and engaging reports.
